Marking the 60th anniversary of the cult classic Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, Brighton Toy and Model Museum will open the Captain Scarlet 60 exhibition on July 10, 2027—known to fans as Captain Scarlet Day—for a 12-month run. Jan Etches, manager of Brighton Toy and Model Museum, said: "This is a first for the Brighton Toy Museum and one that offers Captain Scarlet fans – along with those of other Gerry and Sylvia Anderson productions – this is a unique opportunity to enjoy the pop culture, aesthetics and imagery of the show. "We have a raft of materials we want to add to so are asking the public to get in touch If you have any Captain Scarlet memorabilia, toys or models in a backroom cupboard or a box in the loft!" The exhibition is being organised in partnership with Anderson Entertainment, with co-curators including graphic designer Malcolm Garrett MBE, museum trustee Steve Crump OBE and Anderson Entertainment’s Jamie Anderson. Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons first aired in 1967, created by Gerry Anderson—best known for Thunderbirds, Stingray and Space 1999.
