Henry Teare, from West Sussex, was diagnosed in May with severe aplastic anaemia, a rare and life-threatening blood disorder that stops bone marrow from producing enough new blood cells. He now relies on regular blood transfusions and is unable to go to school or see friends. Henry’s mum, Alison, said: "Henry is naturally pale, but we had noticed that he wasn’t rosy-cheeked like he used to be. Doctors say Henry’s best hope for recovery is a stem cell transplant. With a family match unlikely, his family is working with blood cancer charity DKMS UK to boost the stem cell donor register.
