The incident occurred on Ellen Street, in Hove, on the evening of July 28. Jade, who witnessed the fire and did not wish to provide her surname, said she had had thought the incident was fireworks being set off at first. She added: "It was a very big shock when we looked out of the window." East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that it had attended the incident and extinguished the fire. A spokeswoman for the service said: "East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called to a car fire in Ellen Street, Hove, at 11:45pm on July 28.
