In some tit for tat, SpaceX is subtly nudging the Federal Communications Commission to penalize rival satellite internet provider Eutelsat OneWeb after the EU adopted rules to preserve satellite spectrum for European companies.
Despite the threat, the European Commission adopted a proposal in May to preserve at least two-thirds of the 2GHz mobile satellite spectrum for European players.
Consistent with the Commission’s policies, it must evaluate these applications for market access in view of the pending reciprocity proceeding, and apply market access conditions fairly and equally.”

Carefully evaluating reciprocal treatment of each of these market access requests is an affirmative step towards stemming rising protectionism.”
