MUMBAI, Jul 30: Senior India batter Ajinkya Rahane on Thursday announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing the curtain down on a career spanning more than a decade, saying that he felt the time was right to “move on”. The 38-year-old represented India in 85 Tests, 90 ODIs and 20 T20Is after making his international debut in 2013. Rahane finished his Test career with 5,077 runs at an average of 38.46, including 12 centuries and 26 fifties. Rahane added that his association with cricket would continue, saying he wanted to help the next generation and give back to the sport. Despite losing his place in the national team, Rahane remained active in domestic cricket and led Mumbai until the 2024-25 season.
