NEW DELHI, July 30: Opposition MPs, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, staged a protest in the Parliament House complex on Thursday over alleged police excesses against student protesters and alleged theft of donations at the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The MPs gathered at Makar Dwar and raised slogans including “chadhawa chor, gaddi chor”, “Grih Mantri sadan mein aao” and “who gave the order”. The protesting lawmakers also carried a donation box and deposited money into it to symbolise the alleged theft of donations at the Ram temple. Besides Priyanka Gandhi, Samajwadi Party’s Dharmendra Yadav, Trinamool Congress’ Sagarika Ghose and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s Mahua Maji were among those who participated in the protest. The INDIA bloc has said it will raise the issues of alleged theft of donations at the Ram temple and the alleged use of “brutal force” against students during their protests last week.
