OverviewThe Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced key reforms in the NEET UG 2026 counselling process to make admissions more transparent and student-friendly. According to an official notification issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, counselling will begin shortly with several software-based improvements. Their admission will remain valid within the counselling system while they participate in further rounds, reports NDTV. Additionally, the MCC has introduced an online resignation facility, allowing candidates to surrender their allotted seats directly through the counselling portal without visiting the college. Of these, around 11.21 lakh candidates qualified for admission to undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH, and allied health science programmes.
