Verma, has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU), Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Born on December 8, 1959, Dr Verma is a native of Shimla. He completed his early education at DAV School, Lakkar Bazaar, Shimla, before pursuing higher medical studies at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla. During his illustrious career, Dr Verma served as Professor and Head of the Department of Surgery at IGMC Shimla and Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar Government Medical College, Nahan. Dr Verma has also done a Commonwealth fellowship in Endo-Urology from Southampton General Hospital, UK.
