A man has been fined close to $700 after a car became became airborne and speared through the side of the bus. A blue Toyota Yaris swerved around the SsangYong before losing control and slamming into the bus, police allege. “All of a sudden it was just bang, like an explosion,” witness Evan Boulton, who was in a car next to the bus, told 7NEWS. The bus driver — a 66-year-old man from Sunnybank Hills — was not seriously injured. A 66-year-old Durack man driving the SsangYong was issued with a $690 traffic infringement notice and docked three demerit points for driving without due care and attention.
