The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has announced a R60 million capital investment in strategic electricity infrastructure to modernise its failing grid and stimulate economic growth. A National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) inspection previously cited the municipality for systemic failures in asset care, while the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber reported that mid-term energy losses had escalated to R840 million.
