Before you jump on a bike, make sure you're aware of Danish biking etiquette, to avoid conflict with Danish cyclists. Tourists and other foreigners are often eager to experience it, but encounter anger and frustration from the locals, some people describing Copenhagen cyclists as “lethal”. In mid-June, this frustration led the City of Copenhagen to lay out rules and recommendations to help ease tensions between locals and tourists. Numbers published by the City of Copenhagen show that more than 300,000 cyclists move through the city every day. Every day cyclists in Copenhagen manage to clock 2,7 million kilometers: equivalent to 67 trips around the planet.
