Sir Elton John is grateful for "every single day" after celebrating 36 years of sobriety. Sharing a photo on Instagram in which he smiled as he sat outside holding a glass of his own Elton John Zero Blanc de Blancs, he wrote: “36 years sober today. Grateful for every single day." Elton shared the same post on his Instagram Story, accompanied by the sound of his 1983 hit single I'm Still Standing. Speaking to Variety, Elton previously explained: "After I finally surrendered and decided to seek treatment for my addiction, there came a point when I wondered if I would ever go back to work as Elton John again.
