Most Americans believe that Big Tech and its CEOs have too much power and believe that the government should use antitrust laws against the industry, according to a new survey. A YouGov poll first reported by Axios found that 70 percent of Americans believe that Big Tech and its leadership have outsized power. The poll surveyed 1,200 adults and, among its findings, detailed that 68 percent of Americans believe federal and state authorities should use antitrust laws against Big Tech. The findings correlate with other polls regarding public opinion on data centers - the infrastructure needed to continue to develop AI. The opposition to data centers has "consolidated into a national political force," Data Center Watch stated, adding that the second half of 2025 marked a turning point as data center opposition shifted.
