Newland, an Adams County, Ohio, officer involved in the 2022 raid of his home. Afroman claims the officer’s earlier lawsuit cost him legal fees, income and professional opportunities. Seven officers sued him in 2023, seeking nearly $4 million over allegations including defamation and invasion of privacy. Newland previously denied stealing money during the raid, testifying that he had miscounted the seized cash.
