First Consignment of Ballot Papers Arrives in Lusaka

The first consignment of ballot papers for the August 13 General Election has arrived in the country, with the final consignment expected tomorrow.
A total of 202 out of the expected 387 pallets of ballot papers arrived aboard a chartered flight at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka this morning.
Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Chairperson Mwangala Zaloumis said the verification of the ballot papers by stakeholders will begin on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 09:00 hours at the ECZ Silverest Warehouse in Lusaka.
Ms Zaloumis said the Commission is satisfied with the arrival process, which was witnessed by various stakeholders, adding that the ballot papers will be securely stored at the ECZ warehouse in Silverest.
Meanwhile, stakeholders who witnessed the arrival and transportation of the first consignment of ballot papers to the Silverest Warehouse expressed satisfaction with the process.
