EAST GRAND FORKS — East Grand Forks City Council members on Tuesday discussed whether to close off part of a main city street for an event planned for August.
Event organizers for the Nick Minske Memorial Run are looking to close part of Fourth Street Northwest on Aug. 15 for a street concert following the memorial run.
The concert would be held adjacent to Up North Pizza so the event could use the restaurant’s liquor license.
City Administrator Reid Huttunen said the portion of Fourth Street that would be closed is under the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s control.
ADVERTISEMENTCouncil President Brian Larson said he was in favor of the event’s initial request to close part of Fourth Street.
