ROCHESTER — Jennifer “Red” Carroll wasn’t sure what to expect as she prepared to moderate a candidate forum designed to field questions from people experiencing homelessness and facing other challenges in the community.
Drawing roughly three dozen people, with most experiencing homelessness or another challenge, Carroll said she felt the first-time event met expectations.
“It’s the absolute ingredient of good decision making when it comes to helping, not just those facing homelessness, but the people of the city in general,” he said.
A mayoral candidate forum addressing housing and homelessness is held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Salvation Army Social Service Center in Rochester.
“No matter who gets elected mayor, I want to make sure they understand the complexity of this problem before they try to start tackling it,” she said.
