The Union Government noted that Ladakh’s active domestic LPG connections were merged with Jammu and Kashmir’s figures in the April 1, 2022 data. The Ministry said that, as of July 1, 2026, India had 33.13 crore domestic LPG consumers, including 10.58 crore connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY). The Centre said all domestic LPG consumers receive refills at regulated retail selling prices, with the price of a cylinder in Delhi currently at Rs 942. Nationally, the number of domestic LPG consumers has continued to expand, with the government reporting 33.13 crore consumers as of July 1, 2026. Jammu and Kashmir’s 35.64 lakh consumers represent around 1.1 per cent of the national consumer base, while Ladakh’s 1.04 lakh account for about 0.03 per cent.
