A new network for Muslims working in HR has held its second event in Edgbaston, Birmingham. The Muslims in HR (MiHR) network was hosted by Shakil Butt, founder of HR Hero for Hire and advisory board member of the network. The event began with the recitation of a specific Quranic verse: “One of the women said, O my father, hire him. “Or to put it into the HR context, being ‘capable and trustworthy’, combining skills with values, reminding attendees of the interconnectedness of the Muslim faith and HR,” he added. Butt added: “If you’re in HR and if you are a Muslim then this is a safe space for you.
