Parliamentary Committee on Economy and Development Lauds NPA for Advancing Ghana’s Downstream Petroleum Sector

The Parliamentary Select Committee on Economy and Development has commended the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) for its impressive work in regulating Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.
The Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy and Development, Hon Eric Afful, who gave the commendation said the NPA was crucial to Ghana’s economy in terms of keeping the economy running and contributing significantly to the gross domestic product (GDP).
Afful said the purpose of the visit was to follow up on previous engagements and to Verify relevant information.
In his address, Mr. Tameklo expressed his appreciation to the Committee for the visit, noting that it reflected Parliament’s continued interest in strengthening the downstream petroleum sector.
The Committee also toured key operational facilities within the NPA where they were taken through the functions of the Authority’s technical departments and the systems that underpin the NPA’s regulatory oversight.
