Formed in Wexford in 1982, Cry Before Dawn helped shape Irish rock in the late 1980s with a distinctive sound blending driving guitars with traditional Irish pipes and whistles, building a devoted following both at home and abroad. Following their international record deal in 1986, the band released two double platinum-selling albums and won IRMA Awards for Best Newcomer and Best Irish Group. The momentum carries into this summer’s nationwide tour, with the band performing career-spanning favourites alongside their new single, Where Are The Heroes. He said the band remained proud of what they had achieved, but were even more excited about what was happening now.
