AdvertisementA PROPOSAL to upgrade the footpath and public lighting on the Charleville Road in Kilmallock, County Limerick, has been identified as a potential scheme for delivery under Limerick City and County Council’s active travel programme. However, Cllr Carey was informed that the delivery of active travel projects is dependent on the level of funding allocated annually, with the current availability within the district remaining limited. Notwithstanding these current restraints, the local authority pointed out that the Cappamore-Kilmallock district has also successfully delivered a significant number of active travel projects in recent years, enhancing infrastructure for walking and cycling, and promoting more sustainable modes of transport throughout the area.
