The matter, affecting Teesville and neighbouring Eston, was raised at a Redcar and Cleveland Council meeting earlier this year and concern has been expressed by councillors Stephen Martin and Peter Chaney.
Cllr Martin said the culprits had been using a secluded path running off Fabian Road behind Whale Hill Primary School and throwing stones and rocks over back garden fences, smashing windows and greenhouses.
Meanwhile, some old unused paths in the area which surround a tip could be removed altogether.
“Work is now ongoing with the council to look at practical changes to the area, including removing old, unused paths which are breaking up and providing a source of the stones and rocks being thrown at properties.”
Neighbourhood Sergeant for Eston, Gary Walters said: “I would encourage anyone experiencing incidents of criminal damage or anti-social behaviour in this area to report these to us on 101.
