Liam Duckling, 21, appeared at a Durham Crown Court plea hearing alongside youth defendants, aged 16 and 17. They each denied a joint charge of aggravated burglary of a house in Surtees Avenue, Ferryhill, on April 25 this year, but entered guilty pleas to a simple charge of burglary at the property. Duckling denied possession of a knife and axe, also in Surtees Terrace, on the same date, but his co-accused both admitted the charge.
