Emergency services were called to the A-road at Knayton, near Thirsk, at around 10.15pm last night, following a one-vehicle collision. North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service sent fire engines from Thirsk and Northallerton and said they rescued the driver from the vehicle using a ladder. A spokesperson for the fire service added: "Crews from Thirsk and Northallerton attended a single-vehicle road traffic collision where a car had left the road, travelled through a field and come to rest in a ditch. "Crew used a triple extension ladder to assist the occupant from the vehicle."
