More drop-in dates announced to vaccinate teens and students against ‘cruel and unforgiving disease’

The Shetland Times
NHS Shetland has again extended the number of sessions for young people to have their first dose of the Men B vaccine.
Following recent outbreaks of meningitis in the UK, the vaccine is being offered to some older teenagers and new students who are under 25.
These groups are at higher risk of exposure to the meningococcal group B bacteria that causes severe and life-threatening illnesses.
People can visit the Grantfield vaccination centre in Lerwick today (Thursday), tomorrow, Thursday, 6th August, and Friday, 7th August.
Patients who are registered at Hillswick, Unst, Yell and Whalsay health centres can contact their own practice or attend a drop-in clinic.
