Today, I salute Army Veteran Steven Pierce. After transitioning out of the Army, retired Lt. Col. Steven Pierce chose a rare path: he went back. He deployed to Iraq in 2003, surviving a fierce nine-hour ambush that earned him a Purple Heart. Pierce went on to deploy to Afghanistan and Iraq before retiring after 26 years. Today, he helps preserve veterans’ legacies through a new Purple Heart exhibit at the Corpus Christi Museum.
