Back in March, we learned that Samsung's next flagship non-foldable smartphone, the Galaxy S27 Ultra, could feature LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0 storage, marking a significant upgrade over the LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage used in the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
A popular tipster, Lanzuk, says that the “current situation” regarding the Galaxy S27 Ultra featuring LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0 storage is “not good.”
Samsung's flagship smartphones typically sell in much higher volumes than those of most competing brands.
While securing a limited supply of next-generation memory and storage chips may be feasible, sourcing enough units for a mass market device is far more challenging.
That could be why Samsung may decide to skip LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0 storage for the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
