Air Busan (BX, Busan) has approved a KRW40 billion won (USD27.6 million) short-term bank borrowing facility to secure working capital and liquidity, doubling its total short-term borrowing limit to KRW80 billion (USD55.2 million), according to a stock exchange filing dated July 27, 2026. The new facility represents 24.6% of the airline's KRW162.9 billion (USD112.5 million) equity capital. Air Busan also has KRW40 billion in privately placed bonds, maturing within one year. The decision comes as Air Busan reported a second-quarter operating loss of KRW35.5 billion (USD24.5 million), up from KRW11.1 billion (USD7.7 million) a year earlier. The Chosun Ilbo newspaper reported that Air Busan attributed the revenue growth to expanded operations, including new charter flights to Japan and China, and normalised aircraft availability.
