As this paper reported, HGVs crashing into the building on the corner of Kingsbury Street and Silverless Street – formerly the Gazette and Herald offices in the town – caused “significant damage”.
“There are ongoing issues of lorries sometimes still turning into Silverless Street and damage being caused to the medieval listed properties on the street on the corner of Kingsbury Street.”

They already ignore the one at the Town Hall and more and more turn into Kingsbury Street and then first right into Silverless Street.
Mr Purdin informed the council she wants to see large signs reading ‘No HGVs’ at each end of Silverless Street.
