IRGC Launches Ballistic Missiles at US Base in Jordan; Intercepts Ships in Strait of HormuzIn retaliation to the perceived aggressive actions attributed to the US military, the IRGC’s Aerospace Force stated it launched multiple ballistic missiles targeting a US airbase and the Central Command headquarters in Jordan, according to a statement released early Wednesday. Reports indicate that the violations persisted despite Washington and Tehran agreeing to a Pakistan-mediated memorandum of understanding last month. In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding, the Islamic Republic established a maritime route to ensure safe and legal navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, the United States has allegedly attempted to assist ships in bypassing this route by facilitating the escort of vessels through an unauthorized passage. Iran’s Armed Forces have executed decisive responses to every violation, including actions supporting unlawful vessel navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
