General Mohammad Sharafi announced on Thursday that the pilgrimage has seen a registration of 2.4 million participants. He reported that over two million pilgrims have successfully departed the country in a safe and sound manner. It was observed that approximately 500,000 pilgrims have made their return to Iran following their pilgrimage. Sharafi reported that the transportation of two million pilgrims was successfully conducted without any security incidents during this period. Arbaeen commemorates the 40th day following the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussain (AS), recognized as the third Shia Imam and the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), along with his devoted companions.
