Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto has denied allegations of sexual assault and other sexual misconduct after a new BBC documentary featured accusations from four women who allege they were teenagers when the alleged incidents occurred. The documentary, Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret, includes accounts from 10 women, four of whom accuse Leto of criminal sexual conduct dating from 2002 to 2016. Among the allegations are claims of sexual assault, grooming, sexually explicit phone calls, threats of sexual violence and an alleged sexual relationship with a 17-year-old in California, where the age of consent is 18. The BBC reported that it reviewed photographs, messages, witness statements and other material that it said corroborated aspects of several accounts. The BBC documentary has renewed attention on claims that have circulated for years, while Leto continues to deny any misconduct.
