The Kalona Historical Village is hosting a benefit supper this Saturday, August 1st, to support the new location of the Washington County Military Museum. The menu will feature Civil War-era food, including hardtack, cornbread baked with sausage, stews, Boston baked beans, and sweet potato pudding. The museum previously hosted a similar event back in March, featuring food from the 1870s. All money raised during the supper will go toward the museum’s new location in Kalona. Those interested can reserve their spot by calling the Kalona Historical Village at 319-656-3232.
