Debra Cenales expressed her gratitude for surviving a terrifying incident when gunfire erupted outside her apartment at Emerald Pines Apartments on Monday night.
During the altercation, 21-year-old Leona Boykin was involved in a dispute with Cenales’ daughter right outside Cenales’ door, leading Boykin to open fire, sending bullets piercing through the door.
I dove immediately over my grandkids because it was a two-week-old baby, a three-year-old, my eight-year-old daughter, my 19 and 20-year-old daughter,” Cenales told WLOX.
Law enforcement arrived at the Emerald Pines residential facility on July 20 following reports of a shooting incident.
At the Emerald Pines facility, investigators found multiple spent shell casings and observed that bullets had hit the residential unit.
