BROOKINGS — South Dakota State kicks off training camp (I refuse to call it 'fall' camp when it's July) on Thursday, and Zach Borg and I will be there for coverage. The return of football means the return of 'Jacks Chats', the podcast series we started back in the spring, and for the latest episode I caught up with the two position coaches I didn't get to back in spring, offensive line coach Mike Bengtson and defensive line coach Logan McCormick. ADVERTISEMENTObviously their units are two of the most important for SDSU's success in 2026 — Bengtson's unit is hoping to build on a strong finish to 2025, while McCormick's 'chaingang' is hoping to rebuild the depth that keyed the Jacks' national championship runs under John Stiegelmeier and Jimmy Rogers.
