ISLAMABAD, Jul 30 (APP):The Emergency Response Committee (ERC) on Thursday held its seventh session at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) headquarters to review the flood situation, rescue operations, relief efforts and preparedness measures across Pakistan, with federal and provincial authorities pledging stronger coordination to deal with emerging challenges. The meeting, held on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, was chaired via video link by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Prof Ahsan Iqbal. According to officials, the committee reviewed the overall monsoon situation, including recent incidents, human casualties, infrastructure damage, rescue activities, relief operations and rehabilitation efforts in affected areas. The NEOC also briefed participants on the latest hydrological conditions, river flows and potential weather related hazards that could affect vulnerable regions in the coming days. Participants stressed the need for seamless coordination among all stakeholders to ensure a swift and effective response to any worsening weather situation.
