Carney was in Red Deer Wednesday, July 29 to announce a partnership between the federal and provincial governments to accelerate homebuilding. During the question and answer period with media, Carney confirmed Red Deer will receive that first instalment after all. “When you look at affordable seniors’ housing, affordable housing (in general), supportive housing, transitional housing — all these pieces and layers in the housing continuum need to be taken into account.
