The proposal includes the acquisition of five non-federal parcels consisting of approximately 5,700 acres by the United States in exchange for two federal parcels, consisting of approximately 24,600 acres, to FMC. The proposed acquisition by the United States of the non-federal lands would expand recreation access, protect critical riparian areas, and enhance wildlife habitat and corridors for big game. Disposing of these federal lands would reduce those lands that are difficult or impossible for the public to reach. For further information contact the BLM Safford Field Office at 928-348-4400.
