NewsBy Nicola CarruthersMichigan has signed a bill that caps the state liquor board’s fees for delivering products, a move that will have a “long-lasting impact” on the spirits industry. Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer has signed into law Senate Bill (SB) 604, which went into effect yesterday (29 July). It caps the fees that spirits suppliers are required to pay Authorised Distribution Agents (ADAs) per case of spirits purchased by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC). The Michigan Spirits Association (MSA), which has called for the measure to be implemented for several years, has welcomed the move. “Senate Bill 604 provides additional support for the Michigan Liquor Control Commission and helps ensure Michigan’s distribution system can continue to serve retailers and consumers in the years ahead. ”
