Up North: SummerFest's impact extends well beyond the iceThe calendar might still say July, but that didn’t stop 16 teams from across Minnesota and Wisconsin from lacing up their skates this past weekend for the sixth annual SummerFest tournament. “Duluth’s a great place to showcase, and this is the best time to do it,” explained tournament director Dave Reyelts. It also serves as a fundraiser for the Rails, allowing the program to create opportunities for players both on and off the ice. “People who had no idea where Proctor, Minnesota, was all know Duluth, but now they come up to Proctor. It’s cool that people know where we are and know where our school is.”
