A teen is dead after crashing his pickup truck on a highway east of Sheridan. The passenger-side wheels and tires drove on the gravel road edge, before the vehicle struck 3 delineator posts. The driver then corrected to the left and back onto the roadway, but he ended up overcorrecting and his vehicle went into a passenger-side leading slide and off the south edge of the road, and down an embankment. The teen driver was not wearing a seat belt and driver inattention is listed as a contributing factor in the crash. At the time of the incident, it was the 73rd fatality on a Wyoming highway this year, but that number has since jumped to 76, which is ahead of 72 fatalities at around this time last year.
