The fire took place last night (Wednesday, July 29) in the Blackbrook Road/Lodge Crescent area of Netherton, with West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) crews called to the incident at 9.11pm. Four fire engines attended the incident, which WMFS say involved three different areas of fire over 1,000 square metres. Firefighters noted that wild horses were present in the area of the blaze. After extinguishing the fire, WMFS have confirmed that two 'small' fire engine crews, equipped with a drone, will revisit the area at 9am today (Thursday, July 30) to check for any lingering hot spots and to dampen the area.
