Dudley Fire Station issued the statement today (Thursday, July 30) after crews from across the region battled fires during the recent spell of hot weather. West Midlands Fire Service crews battled blazes in the Himley Hall, Oldbury, and Netherton areas yesterday (Wednesday, July 29). According to the Dudley Fire Station, due to recent incidents and weather, firefighters have been forced to work in 'extreme conditions', and the service is 'extremely stretched'. The fire station also says that firefighters battling fires have faced the 'added obstacle' of being 'abused' or 'ignored' when trying to move members of the public away from fires and the dangers of breathing in smoke.
