DETROIT LAKES — A new Sanford Detroit Lakes unit is opening that could help save lives. Sanford held a ribbon cutting Wednesday, July 29, for an MRI unit in Detroit Lakes. ADVERTISEMENTThe unit can provide a broad range of MRI exams, including imaging of the brain, spine, bones and joints, chest, abdomen and pelvis. A foot and ankle surgeon said the new unit will help cut down on travel time for patients. "This is going to allow for patients to be able to have faster access to advanced imaging, earlier diagnoses, and then ultimately faster treatment plans that are going to be enabled by our area physicians to try to speed up patient care," said Dr. Andrew Johnson, doctor of podiatric medicine.
