Many times, the late June USDA Acreage Report and Grain Stocks Report, together with the follow-up WASDE Report, can have a big impact on grain market trends.
The 2026 planted corn acreage would be the fourth highest total acreage since 1944; however, the anticipated 2026 corn acreage would be a decrease of 3.5% from the 2025 planted corn acres of 98.8 million acres.
The estimated 2026 corn acreage also compares to 90.6 million acres in 2024, 94.6 million acres in 2023, 88.6 million acres in 2022, and 93.6 million acres in 2021.
The estimated 2026 U.S. soybean acreage compares to other recent acreage levels of 81.2 million acres in 2025, 87 million acres in 2024, 83.6 million acres in 2023, 87.4 million acres in 2022, and 87.2 million acres in 2021.
