On this day in 1896, two young girls were severely injured in an accidental dynamite cap explosion while playing at a ranch near Williston, North Dakota. WILLISTON, N. D., July 30.—A serious accident occurred at Thomas Shea’s ranch, ten miles south. While the children of Shea and John Youill were playing they found some dynamite caps, which exploded.
