MINOT — According to multiple legislative sources, Gov. Kelly Armstrong is expected to call lawmakers back to Bismarck for a special legislative session to address the issue of kratom. Senate Majority Leader David Hogue, a Minot Republican, directed comments about the potential for a special session to Armstrong's office. Later in the session, lawmakers pivoted to House Bill 1566, which initially sought to establish a regulatory framework governing kratom sales, labeling, and age limits. This would be the second special session for the 69th Legislative Assembly.
