The European Commission has launched a call to build up to seven large artificial intelligence data centres, known as AI gigafactories, across Europe. Applications are open until November 12, with construction expected to begin next year. Czechia is among the countries bidding to host one of the facilities, with the project backed by the Czech government. The EU had originally planned to build five AI gigafactories but has now increased the number to as many as seven.
