CAIRO — Egypt has been ranked the second most generous country in the world and the highest-ranked Arab nation in the CAF World Giving Report 2025, according to the latest assessment by the UK-based Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). The findings also place Egypt among Africa’s leading nations for charitable giving, highlighting the continent’s strong tradition of philanthropy and community support despite comparatively lower income levels. The annual report, produced by the Charities Aid Foundation—an international charity and research organisation that has studied global philanthropy for decades—surveyed more than 50,000 respondents across 101 countries. Nigeria topped the global rankings after respondents reported donating an average 2.83% of annual income, followed by Egypt at 2.45%. For Egypt, the latest ranking reinforces its long standing reputation as one of the region’s leading centers of charitable giving.
